I work with strong, independent woman who struggle with relationships and depression.
You are part of the so called Generation X and perhaps share certain characteristics with your peers such as a sense of independence but at the same time, a strong sense of responsibility for others.
You may have young children as well as older parents,both needing care,attention and plans for their future.
Did you internalize the name “slacker”, often feeling that you don’t do enough and what you do is not good enough?
And what about asking for help? It doesn’t come easily as your generation was raised to figure things out and fend for yourself. What a setup! My work is to help you figure out how to deal with life situations as well as recognize your inner strength.
We don’t choose therapy because we are “crazy” ,weak or losers that can’t figure things out for ourselves. We choose to go in part, because life today is difficult and everyone can use new tools to help navigate all the crap that comes our way.
While you are part of a certain generation that may share some characteristics you are a unique individual that deserves to live and feel good in her own life as well as caring for others.
For me, therapy is about establishing a unique relationship that focuses on you, your struggles ,your desires and everything else about you.
It works, truly, when we work on it together.
