Psychotherapist - Registered Psychotherapist
Therapy is a collaborative process and takes courage. I am humbled by that and find it an honor to share in my client’s lives. The most critical ingredient to successful therapy is the relationship you build with your therapist. If you don’t feel comfortable, it will be difficult to share your deepest emotions and vulnerabilities. I love working with clients toward the changes they want to make in their lives.
Above and beyond the education I’ve received, I have a great deal of life tucked under my belt. I have been through some amazingly difficult times. I know how it feels to be there, how it feels to work through issues—and even better—how it feels to move beyond an issue. I start with a family systems approach to therapy, believing all relationships are interconnected. Families, relationships, and societal influences all impact who we are and any changes we make come from a deeper understanding of those connections. We then look at what is working for you right now and build on those strengths, developing new skills for you to use as you maneuver through the challenges that life brings.
I thoroughly enjoy working with couples using a combination of PACT (Stan Tatkin’s Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy, Level II) and Gottman Couple’s Therapy, finding the two modalities help couples identify and resolve issues more quickly than other approaches.
