Diana Chan
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LICSW
I believe in the healing power of therapeutic relationship through fostering an open, trusting, collaborative and non-judgmental environment. This relationship creates a safe place for you to work through unresolved issues and unhealed emotional wounds that are keeping you from moving forward or causing you distress. We will look at components of your life that have impacted your current values, relationships, and behaviors. We will examine thoughts, feelings and beliefs that influence your choices and your reactions to situations in which you find yourself today. Therapy is a process, a way to help you improve your understanding and acceptance of yourself. It can provide insight on how you can improve the quality of your life and live more compassionately. I have been providing individual and group counseling services since 2007. I have worked with clients from different cultural and economic backgrounds who suffered from depression, anxiety, and aftermath of trauma. My professional interests are mindfulness, multiculturalism, healing from past sexual trauma, and empowerment from within. I utilize mindfulness, thought field therapy, “the work” by Byron Katie, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other therapy theories in my sessions with clients.
