Deb Dettman
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW LICSW SUDP
In person therapy in Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago.
Feeling overwhelmed and ready to do something about it? I can help. I work with women who are internally freaking out, but mostly hiding it really well. Sleep problems, upsetting thoughts and feeling exhausted all the time are common experiences for women like yourself. You may notice yourself trying to self-medicate in various ways but that isn’t working anymore. You might be having some relationship issues or just trying to distract by taking care of everyone else. You can share things in therapy that can’t be shared with your usual supports. I will help you identify where unhealthy patterns came from, reduce the shame and get on with life. I am a compassionate listener and an active collaborator so you can form better strategies and practice and reinforce healthier ways to cope. You can heal the old wounds and move on. I do what I do because my life was saved by support that included a therapist and circles of strangers that oddly seemed to be experiencing what I was when I thought I was alone in all of it. Living a life of recovery from everything is a lot of work but it’s well worth it.
