Darlene Drew
Are you tired of being “sick and tired.” I can assist you in learning techniques that will help you cope with challenging situations that have the potential to drain you of your energy and compromise your health. By coping with these challenges rather than allowing them to become overwhelming, you regain control of your life, return to activities you used to enjoy, regain your health, or simply recapture the moments that make your heart feel alive, fulfilled and rejuvenated.I believe our mind and body are linked at the most basic level. When something happens in our mind, something changes in our body and when something happens in our body, something changes in our mind – almost instantaneously. My approach blends an understanding of the relationship between physical and psychological issues. Therefore, in therapy I emphasize how your thoughts influence your heart and your heart impacts your actions. If you change your thoughts, your actions follow; therefore, your situation changes.I specialize in treating individuals suffering with depression and/or anxiety as well as those manifesting physiological symptoms secondary to stress (IBS, insomnia, hypertension, headaches, chronic pain, etc.) I also assist individuals who need innovative tips on parenting as well as couples that are having relationship issues. I strive to provide a comfortable and collaborative environment in which you can explore your issues and strive to employ new alternatives to cope with them. I believe that a compassionate counseling experience is imperative and assists in delivering optimum results for every client.
