Danielle Kasprzak
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
I provide individual and couples/relationship psychotherapy using a gentle and in-depth style to help you learn to tolerate uncomfortable feelings, identify hidden patterns, and develop a greater sense of inner calmness and confidence. My work is strongly influenced by contemporary psychoanalysis, intersectional feminism, and anti-oppression frameworks. I specialize in working with queer/trans/nonbinary folks; the polyamorous and kink communities; Black, Indigenous, and people of color; and the myriad intersections of these groups. I also have extensive experience and thoroughly enjoy working with people in academia.
What does therapy with me look like in practice? You’ll come in and talk about what’s on your mind. We’ll create space to be curious about your inner and outer worlds. And, we’ll explore your emotions in the here-and-now, as well as our therapeutic relationship, to better understand how you relate to others. There won’t be a lot of worksheets or homework.
Some have tried therapy before but found the results didn’t last. Psychotherapy with someone attuned to your history and your position in the world provides deeper healing. I meet with my clients a minimum of once per week to help us get to know one another and hold compassion and space for your story.
