Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor - M.Ed., LCMHC
We all have moments in our lives when we need support. You never thought things would be this tough, especially since you’re so strong on the outside. During this time of uncertainty, meeting life’s daily demands is difficult, and feeling stuck prevents you from moving forward and living the life you’ve dreamed of having. You may be struggling with who you are versus who you’d like to be. Perhaps you’ve been carrying something from the past with you for years, and you know that it’s finally time to let go of this burden and move forward.
You might be facing any number of challenges, including:
* Overwhelming sadness or stress
* Feeling tense, not thinking clearly, and not being able to sleep
* Grieving a loss, whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the
loss of a job, or any other type of life change, even if it’s a desired change
* Traumatic situations from your past
* Chronic pain or other health issues
Making the decision to begin therapy is a healthy step toward making positive changes in your life and doing something for yourself. I see therapy as a journey, and your journey toward healing and wellness will be as unique as you are.
My most important goal as I work with you will be to create a safe, warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for you to do the work that therapy requires. We’ll collaborate to create a plan for you to move forward. Along the way, you will come to terms with the losses you’ve experienced, heal from painful situations from your past, improve your mood, gain coping skills to manage life challenges, learn to be compassionate with yourself, and perhaps for the first time, realize the strength you’ve had all along.
I have been in the mental health field for 19 years and have worked with individuals who face a wide range of issues and challenges. In our work together, I will utilize approaches such as EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and others. Since each person is unique, I will tailor my approach to your specific needs.
