Making the decision to work with a new therapist, can be anxiety-provoking due to the many unknowns, especially during this particular time. Success in therapy often begins with finding the right therapist. So, let me describe how I begin to work with new clients. First, we speak via phone where I learn more about your situation and goals. If my skills and approach are a match, we schedule a video meeting to further access my appropriateness for you. Provided we are both in agreement on how best to move forward, we then start the process of finding the right tools to help you become more independent and confident.
My compassion and non-judgmental attitude, combined with my client’s motivation, often allows my clients to feel like they can overcome/manage their anxiety. My work centers on the belief that my clients will eventually become more self-reliant and not need to see me as much for therapy.
My specialty with adults centers on helping them better manage anxiety related to school, relationships, caring for a loved one and/or coping with Multiple Sclerosis. I also specialize in helping children and parents better manage behavioral concerns through the use of Play therapy. Contact me with questions or to schedule an appointment.
