About Me and My Practice
I often call myself a therapist/advocate; at the core, I am a believer in the resiliency of the human spirit. I have a passion for communities and the family system. I love to work with intergenerational issues; ranging from postpartum concerns, attachment ruptures, and advocacy needs for parents with mental illness. I also seek to engage in communal and community trauma for marginalized people groups; holding space for those who may not have access to any other arenas to feel heard and understood.
In the over 12-year span of my career, I’ve been able to work in multiple treatment environments — using a variety of traditional and nontraditional modalities. From Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Trauma-Sensitive mindfulness practices, to the creative arts, and attachment-based systems work, I love to make my methods as individualized/special as those who seek my services. When not at work, I volunteer for a local mental health nonprofit that is impassioned with sustaining programming for maternal mental health.
My Values and Approach
Therapy should involve collaboration and consent; meaning the client has a right to both be a recipient as well as an influencer within the therapeutic relationship. My job as a therapist is to act as a guide while you are empowered to tackle both inner and outer barriers.
I also believe that mental health services belong to all people, no matter their socioeconomic background or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can benefit from being truly seen and heard.
