Becky Belinsky
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - PhD, LMFT
Change begins with conversation. I believe that sharing your story with somebody is the first step towards creating meaningful and lasting change. In therapy, I respect you and your story first and foremost, and endeavor to listen thoughtfully and support you with whatever you bring to session.
I see therapy as an opportunity to work with you to make sense of situations, develop skills, create healthier relationships, and improve general well being.I am primarily a relational therapist, meaning that I hold the relationship between you and me as the most important aspect of therapy. I hope to collaborate with you to ensure that our work together is helpful to you. I strive to help you become more connected to yourself, so you can connect more authentically to others. In the room I offer people a warm and inviting space to safely discuss their struggles and integrate the various aspects of their lives and relationships.
I often work with people addressing the following issues: anxiety, managing stress, relationship and couple issues, communication and intimacy, depression, life transitions and adjusting to change, body image, childhood and family pain and struggles. I also incorporate tools and techniques to help you build new skills and cope with challenging situations, such as mindfulness, meditation, CBT, and ACT. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals and couples around a range of relationship issues, including communication and intimacy, and have specialized training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT).
