Barbara Maulding
Anxiety and Trauma therapist - LCPC
Anxiety is one of those things that seems like most people have heard of but don’t seem to understand. For example, when people talk about anxiety, they talk about fear. Fear of people, fear of public speaking, fear of [fill in the blank]. What they don’t talk about is what if you don’t know what and where the anxiety (fear) is coming from? What if the fear is just there? People who suffer from anxiety try to manage the fear, until it starts to affect their life and becomes a scary thing.
They wait until sometimes, it becomes a life or death thing. When they start driving and suddenly have a panic attack, they can’t breath and have tunnel vision. I love working with people who suffer from anxiety. As people come through their anxiety, it’s a beautiful thing.
I enjoy taking the journey with people as we explore the unknown together. As with any journey, you will come out smarter and wiser at the end then when we started. However, not all journeys are easy and can be challenging. Don’t worry. I will be there to help.
