Azubike Aliche

Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LICSW, LCSW

My clients call me Zubbie or Dr. Zubbie. I like that. When you visit my office, you will find a comfortable and supportive environment in which you feel safe enough to open up about any emotional pain or relationship difficulties for which you seek therapy. There, we will work collaboratively to help you reach optimal health and attain your full potentials. Best, of all, you will find, as my clients say, that I am easy to talk to, and that I am very compassionate.Although I have my office at the heart of Washington DC, I am licensed to practice in the State New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Virginia, apart from DC. I work, essentially, with adolescents and adults to address a variety of mental health and relationship difficulties that they face. Although I am engaged in general practice, I have deep experience and training in working with people who have emotional and relationship problems, depression and anxiety, anger and domestic violence, as well as sexual aggression or abuse. I approach treatment using, essentially, the cognitive-behavioral model. I also use the family systems model, when indicated. I am always looking out for new, effective and evidence-based treatment models that I can use to help my clients achieve their treatment goals, faster. In addition to my core clinical work in mental health and relationship counseling, I recently trained and qualified to provide divorce mediation. I am adding this divorce mediation as adjunct service. Also, I provide consultation to corporate bodies and organizations on mental health issues. I also provide workshops and trainings for companies, including those providing Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
