Ashley Myhre
Therapist - M.A., LMFT, RYT-200
If you consider yourself a nerd, geek, misfit, weirdo, or otherwise outside of the mainstream, you’ve found the right therapist. I help clients heal from trauma, manage anxiety, resolve relationship difficulties, and feel better.
Regardless of your background, I strive to make therapy a safe and accepting space where you can be fully who you are, and that includes all of the quirks, passions, and lifestyle factors that come with being uniquely you. I am sex, body, and weight positive, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and poly and kink welcoming.
Clients and colleagues tell me that I am gentle, yet direct. I work to create a safe, calm, and nonjudgmental atmosphere, while holding space to acknowledge and process difficult thoughts, feelings, sensations, and experiences. My approach to therapy tends to focus on strengths: I operate from the viewpoint that we are all doing the best we can at any given moment, and that we are each the experts on our own lives and experiences.
I’ll work best with you if you’re motivated to engage in therapy, and are ready to make some changes or movement toward your goals. I like incorporating humor, and creative and artistic elements into my work. I value transparency, so I also often tend to provide information and education about how and why things impact our mental health and perceptions, as well as the therapy process itself.
I am an AAMFT & MN Board Approved Supervisor, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, Certified Transgender Care Therapist, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). I have a Certificate in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International, and additionally, have training in many other modalities and issues to help you find relief and restore hope.
