April Watts
Counselor -
Do you try to “have it all together” on the outside but on the inside you’re doubting yourself, bottling your emotions, or worried others will think less of you when/if they see the “real” you? Maybe you continue to spend time with people who treat you poorly, but you’re not sure why. Maybe you are turning to food or other coping mechanisms to distract yourself from what you feel inside. Perhaps anxiety is causing physical symptoms like stomach problems, muscle tension, or trouble sleeping. You are not alone; many of my clients have struggled with similar things. I offer both in-person and virtual counseling to work with you.
My goal is to help you feel more like yourself—a more grounded, intentional, and peaceful version of yourself. I work to create an environment in which you feel understood and unconditionally supported. In this supportive space, I often use EMDR to assist with reprocessing trauma or responses that make us feel “stuck”, and I strongly believe in mindfulness.
If you are interested in working with a counselor who is gentle and kind yet willing to compassionately challenge you when needed, I would love to speak with you about working together to find more peace in your life.
