Angelica Marrufo

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor -

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 7 years in delivering mental health support to individuals, couples, and families.  I have experience spanning across clinical, community-based, and hospital environments. I have a passion in serving historically underrepresented communities, like BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ population.I am a proud Chicago native and embrace my first-generation Mexican American roots.

Recognizing the importance of cultural representation in therapy, I draw from my professional expertise and personal background. I strive to deeply comprehend and affirm the unique cultural aspects of each individual she works with. I have been shaped by my own upbringing in a blended family and parental immigration experience.

My journey into the mental health field stems from a deep-seated commitment to aiding others. I’m dedicated to assisting those grappling with mental health challenges,  immigration trauma, and family-of-origin stressors. Additionally, I find fulfillment in supporting those who are navigating the complexities of race, sexuality, and gender identity. When working with me, clients can anticipate a compassionate, empowering, and even lighthearted therapeutic journey with a hint of humor.

I prioritize the celebration of individuals’ identities, fostering hope, and nurturing meaning in their life through collaborative, strengths-based techniques. My ultimate goal is to create a safe, affirming space where clients can explore their truths, embrace growth, and ultimately embody their best selves.
