Substance abuse has a way of taking over your life. It happens slowly. So slowly that you don’t even notice it. Until your friends start distancing themselves from you, your family expresses concern about your behavior, and you start lying to everyone to avoid being confronted about your use. You start isolating. Using more. Going to work and school without using becomes more and more. You start to feel helpless; your use is out of control. You begin to believe nobody understands. I do.
I’m Amanda, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and I’m here to help. I can help you gain the knowledge and the skills necessary to stop the downward spiral and help you regain control over your life. I want to help you achieve the goals you have for your life that using substances has prevented you from attaining. I want you to feel a sense of pride of your accomplishments instead of hiding behind guilt, shame, and walls of defensiveness. We can work together to find ways to cope with the challenges that come your way and build a successful life.
