I work with deep feeling people around anxiety, depression, mood challenges, and climate stress find ways to live with ease and clarity. Maybe you’re tired of feeling isolated, lost or out of control. Your mind may be working overtime, leaving you unbalanced and stressed. You may feel burnt out from trying to manage your moods, thoughts or worries–on your own. Despite all of your efforts, you still don’t feel like you are making positive life changes. You may grapple with coping with climate change, or feel burdened by guilt, shame and sadness. Therapy can help with easing these pains and increasing an optimal life. For a decade, I’ve worked with those who have wrestled with dense challenges. I’ve witnessed people face deep pain, work though it, take new approaches, and begin leading more joyous, authentic lives. I am an experienced and sensitive therapist that can help you find ease within the challenges life inevitably brings. I enjoy helping clients learn and experiment with new coping strategies. I work to create a non-judgemental atmosphere so clients can feel safe enough to take the risk to be vulnerable and courageous. Often clients find new insights during therapy with me, and we collaborate on how to turn those insights into action. I value working collaboratively with clients, and we often address what is most acutely painful first. I often facilitate mindfulness and relaxation activities during session, so that clients can learn new ways to feel relief, in the moment. We will go at a pace that is comfortable to you, and I will never force you to try or discuss something you are not ready for. The process of witnessing people discover their untapped strengths is an honor. My hope is for clients to feel confident with their coping skills and content in their lives. I believe that anyone can grow, change and recover at any time in their lives, and that small steps are often the most important and pivotal. A lot of my clients realize they’ve developed personal and relational problems due to picking up behaviors that helped survive painful stuff, but now hold them back from living the life they want–and can have. I’ve experienced my fair share of emotional challenges. I get a lot of what my clients struggle with, because I’ve been there. Although my journey and challenges may not look exactly like yours, I have a depth of understanding and compassion for people who feel different and alone in their pain. I also believe as we build our capacity to own and celebrate who we are, we model that health to our friends, family, co-workers, and communities–and perhaps plant seeds of growth into our world.
