Alison Newvine
Marriage & Family Therapist Intern - MFTI
My work is grounded in a commitment to social justice and a feminist therapy lens that involves naming power dynamics and working toward equity. I hold the therapeutic relationship as central to the work of therapy. We come together as individuals with different life experiences, identities, challenges and passions and we bring these experiences and strengths together in service of your growth and healing. We learn from one another and are changed by one another, with your well-being held safely at the center of our relationship. We all feel stuck at certain points in our lives. Sometimes we get stuck for long periods of time, and often at many different points throughout our lives. Challenging life circumstances, oppression, unforeseen events, stress, worry, shame, and regret can weigh us down and alienate us from our inherent worth and goodness. Yet, behind each life problem or distressing symptom there lies an undeveloped quality or talent that is urging itself forward. The therapeutic relationship exists to nurture the growth of these budding seeds and to support you in creating the life you deeply desire.I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern working under the supervision of Hannah Milan Gottsegen MFC 36781 under the auspices of the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy. I hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Somatic, of Body-Oriented, Psychotherapy.
