Whatever issue has you considering counseling, I would like to offer you hope. And even when you aren’t sure you can have hope, know that I will have it for you. I will partner with you and act as a guide in your journey to get from where you are now to where you want to go. I will listen to your goals and tell you what I believe would be the best approach and then we can modify that based on your opinions and needs. The quality of the client-therapist relationship is a huge component of the outcome of therapy. Because of this, I utilize Feedback Informed Therapy which has been shown to improve client outcomes. At the end of each session, I ask clients to answer a few quick questions telling me how well they felt I listened and understood, how helpful the session was, what they liked and what they felt I could have done better. This helps me make sure I’m on track and helping my clients. And it gives my clients an easy way to tell me if they feel I missed something so I can go back and make that right.I am a board-certified counselor and I’m board certified in telemental health (distance or video counseling). Additionally, I am certified in grief counseling. I am specially trained in treating insomnia and nightmares with highly effective, brief, and proven therapies that do not involve the use of medications.I reserve some appointments so that I can see new clients quickly. I offer evening and Saturday appointments in addition to daytime availability. Because I am licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, I can work by HIPAA-compliant video conferencing with clients anywhere in Kansas or Missouri.
