Alana Kivowitz
Psychotherapist - LCSW
Pursuing therapy takes courage and conviction, and it can feel uncomfortable entering into an unfamiliar space, without a clear sense of direction. I believe that the trust and relationship between us is the first step to a successful therapeutic environment. It is important to me that we take the time to build and foster a collaborative, safe, and supportive dynamic for you to explore, heal, and grow. Through our work together, I hope to support you in exploring what makes life worth living, building insight, developing creative coping skills, enhancing connection with others, and instilling self-compassion into your life.
I use an integrative and holistic approach, pulling from evidence-based practices such as ACT, DBT, and CBT to create a highly personalized, healing-centered approach which builds upon your strengths. I also recently completed my certification for CBASP, an evidence-based approach used to treat chronic depression. At Gateway Psychiatric Services, I also collaborate with a psychiatrist should you choose to integrate your care.
I appreciate your bravery in trusting me to support you through your growth and healing, whether this is your first experience with therapy, or your hundredth! I encourage you to reach out with any thoughts that come to mind as you begin this journey!
