Abbie Ashton
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist -
Whether you are new to counseling or have tried it before, I’m here to walk with you through the journey. I believe strongly that most people are doing the best they can with what they have at any given time. I strive to make therapy a safe place where you can work towards your goals for yourself and/or your child. In my 10 years as a Mental Health Therapist I have worked with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, self-harm, shame, family conflict, and parenting issues. I work with children ages 5-18 and adults of all ages.I am a Registered Play Therapist and have training in Sand Tray Therapy. I use these approaches to help children work through painful experiences using their primary language: Play! I am certified in EMDR using this for both children and adults to process past traumatic experiences and decrease the responses to the reminders of these negative experiences.Looking for a new therapist can be daunting, congratulations on taking the first step! I believe finding a therapist you mesh with is extremely important and encourage potential clients to reach out to set up a free 15 minute consultation to see if it’s a “good fit”. I am happy to answer initial questions about my style and approach!
