Why is this so inexpensive?

Being Seen is part of Open Path, a nonprofit organization that has supporting therapists in private practice as part of its mission. We’ve been blessed with success at Open Path, and through Being Seen we’ve identified another way that we can help therapists that are in private practice. This is another way of saying that we’re not in it for the money!

What qualifications do I need to become a member?

You must be a licensed or provisionally licensed (Pre-Licensed/License Eligible) mental health clinician with a graduate degree in psychotherapy, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution. We also welcome unlicensed professionals practicing in jurisdictions where it is legal to practice counseling and psychotherapy without a license.

Are Open Path and Being Seen the same thing?

No, they are not. While Open Path is a service created to help people find affordable therapy, Being Seen is for full-fee and insurance based clients.

What is Open Path?

Open Path Psychotherapy Collective is a nonprofit organization that launched in 2013. Our mission is to provide greater access to affordable psychotherapy services while also supporting therapists in private practice. Our therapists agree to see a minimum of 1 Open Path client at a rate that ranges between $30-50 a session.

How will my membership in Being Seen support the mission of Open Path?

Open Path is ready to ensure our long-term viability in the world of affordable mental health care. The money that is collected from Being Seen’s membership dues will be used to support Open Path’s long-term sustainability well into the future. Your membership dues will help people access affordable care for years, and hopefully decades into the future.

Do I have to be a member of Open Path to join?

Absolutely not! While we would love for you to consider joining Open Path, many of our Being Seen members are not Open Path members.

How do I sign up for a membership?

It’s simple! You begin by joining here.

How long does a membership last?

Your Being Seen membership is a lifetime membership. After you have paid the one-time membership fee, we will not charge your card again. Your profile will remain active on the site.

Do the Open Path Wellness Courses you provide offer CEUs?

They do not. While therapists are welcome to use these classes for their own professional development, they are designed to be shared with the clients of therapists. However, Being Seen members receive a lifetime 20% discount off of 160+ online CE courses through the Zur Institute. The discount also applies to all of the Institute’s pre-licensing courses and private practice materials.
