Sue Oldham’s final training
4th December, 2010 - Posted by Jan Matney - 4 Comments

Here is Sue Oldham in Bozeman, Montana where she trained PoC Mentor A September 23,24,25 2010 and then Mentor B October 1,2, 3, 2010. These were Sue's last trainings, and it was an honor for us to have her in Bozeman not only for the two trainings, but also for the week between. Here she is--open and glowing and full of Life. You have made an indelible mark on so many lives, Sue. Thank you for being yourself so fully.

I love Sue! She was my first trainer–and she did the training by herself!
What a weekend that was.
Sue, I hope you enjoy whatever is next for you!

Sue has been a pivotal influence in my life. She has been the “kick in the tail” I’ve needed many times — and just as many has been a shoulder to cry on. She has a finely honed ability to know when to be which.
She is completely deserving of retirement and yet — she will be missed, dearly. Thank you, Sue, for your many years of tireless and selfless service to The Kairos Foundation; and not only for every participant, trainer, mentor, and Warrior’s life you have impacted, but also for the impact you have indirectly made on their husbands, wives, parents, and children. Your work in the world will no doubt continue in a new form.
My life is infinitely richer for having intersected with yours.

Hi Sue! I’ve just come back to Life Training in October, and I see that you are leaving. What are your plans now that you are retiring? Will you still be involved somehow in More to Life, even though you won’t be teaching anymore?
Even though it has been so many years, I still remember what you said to me at WOW. You said, Why not let yourself have it all? That impacted me. You said to me, “When you get crystal clear on your intention, and you get behind it, there is no stopping you. I love that.
But most of all, what I remember is you said to me, “You never WERE helpless; you were just following illusions”.
Thanks for being a great leader/teacher.
love

I am also grateful for what I’ve learned from Sue. I was taking a mentor course with her and following my habitual pattern of holding back (Jan described my drama as “above the fray” in my MTL Weekend). I tend to sit in the back, not say much, figure out who’s who and what’s what, and just take it all in. Of course in a mentor course you also end up presenting a module. An hour or so after mine was completed, and during a quiet break, I was walking past Sue in her chair, and she simply leaned over and said, “Where’ve you been?” That was all. That was enough. I’ve thought about it often since that day, and told this story many times. In that simple statement, she asked me if I was going to show up for my life. Or not. Thank you for waking me up Sue, and for the difference you’ve made in my personal and professional life. I am grateful. And I’m showing up!
