The Launch of ‘Being Seen’

8th February, 2010 - Posted by Elaine Alpert & Jan Matney - 15 Comments

Today is the launch of  ’Being Seen’, and you’re invited!

Our story started a dozen years ago when More To Life co-founder, Dr. K. Bradford Brown, invited each Trainer to recommit to walking our talk. He wanted us to choose another Trainer as a support partner and use the processes of the program together on a regular basis–as in Every Day. We were Trainer Candidates at the time, and we trusted Brad. That’s how we came to be More To Life support partners.

Brad could not have forecast the personal details of our lives–the money ups and downs, the breakthroughs and challenges with our kids, the illness and deaths we would face. He could not have known the particular sweetness of our celebrations. He was, however, a visionary, and he knew that 1+1 is more than 2. He knew that Life offers an abundance that is more than money or power or good luck. We want to share in that abundance with you.

Our purpose in ‘Being Seen’ is to provide a meeting place for heart and soul—an online clearinghouse for personal transformation—a chance to hear ‘the story behind the story.’ We’ll have guest bloggers, interviews and dialogue. We’ll share our lives with you and bear witness to yours–the growth, the stuck places, the challenges and the miracles.

If you are looking for some feedback about a dilemma in your life or if you want to write us, see our contact form. Your story could appear in our blog. And your insights are welcome anytime by submitting a Comment after a post.  Let us hear from you! We look forward to seeing you in ‘Being Seen’.

Bless you Jan and Elaine,

I see YOU both, individually and together, in your writing.

Following on from what Brad once said, having stood on tiptoe to see what you would create, what a delight to see what’s in front of our eyes. Lo ! Here this is, and here you are! THANK YOU for showing your Selves and enabling others in this way.

I have just been having a wonderful session with someone who once joined Workaholics Anonymous, but no one came to meetings because they were too busy working.

Sometimes I find that’s a dilemma for me – being so committed to what I say I’ll do that I lose myself in a heap of tasks. Luckily my better self has discovered a way through, thanks to our work … and being seen…

much love, and gratitude,

Frances

I am fortunate to have had a steady More To Life support partner for about two years so far. I notice how much I am in my own process when I support him in his. It is a joy for me to watch his progress and sometimes he sees something in me that is new that I have not noticed in myself.

Today as I read the newspaper, I do so with more acceptance of what is happening and I am finding I am letting go of judgments quicker. And when I am stuck in my process, I know who to call.

Friday we have scheduled a group clearing to process our life shocks about the shootings in Huntsville schools. I thank Brad for modeling how to be with each other and with life.

Thank you Elaine and Jan for opening this blog and I look forward to reading what you share.

Oh, the smiles that you two bring to my face as I see you “launching”. I’m right here with you ready to explore the universe of life and lives. Your launching leadership inspires me to find my own unique ways to launch. Thank you for all that you freed up in yourselves to create “Being Seen”.

My oh My you have hatched your blog and what a beautiful creation it is. I am looking forward to reading what you post and others as they share their life stories and are seen.

Your little know facts of yourselves are eye and heart opening. I can just imagine

Oh how delightful. And Elaine, my long time friend, I didn’t know many of those things about you.
How coincidental (maybe?) that we both launched creative projects the same day. Just this morning I released my website that Barbara and I have been working on. It is filled with my photographs and journals from my many trips around the world. I welcome any viewers.
I can’t wait to read your blogs and share your adventures. Jean Higgins

Watching Avatar I was moved to tears with their greeting, “I see you.” Once again seeing Being Seen because there’s no reason to hide tears rolled – especially seeing the smiling faces of two of my favorite people. Thank you for opening the space for us all to see each other and see ourselves in each other. I’ll be back. Love all ways, Loyd, Flat Rock, NC
